As you may know, I have been slowly working on book two of my series. It’s been edited again and hoping there is only one round of editing left for it. In the meanwhile, book three (final one) needs to be outlined.
I have an idea where the story will go but there is no guarantee that is how the events will play out. Have to work out the primary conflict, character motives and social life. At the moment, stuck on the primary conflict. Here’s why…
There is a super powered character on the protagonist’s side. It just so happens that there are no equals to this super powered character. So how does one muzzle a character who can essentially deus ex machina a conflict away? And how does one implement the barrier while making it believable?
This will be crucial to keeping the tension in the story. If there is no tension or uncertainty, the story is not worth the read. Even though I have thought of somethings I can do to tame this one character, I ultimately conclude that it isn’t believable enough and feels like a weak band-aid holding two planks of wood together.
As a result, I only have the prologue outlined. Chapter one is mostly outlined but until I can find an effective way to hold back my super powered character, outlining is on a bit of a pause.
Wish me luck!
Hopefully more updates to come!
